We booked an Airbnb in Cannes this Summer’20. It was the perfect city to stay because it is located in the centre of many cities in Cote d’Azur. You can easily drive to other places. Visit my Instagram @ang_pemay to checkout the stories.
Cannes
I love the sandy beaches, the vibe in La Croisette street, the old village called Suquet, the prestigious red carpet of the Festival de Cannes and the old port. We were lucky to enjoy the musical night in Notre Damn located at Suquet. Cannes also has the best stores to splurge and five-star hotels like Martinez in La Croisette to wander around and grab a drink. I could never get enough of the city. Among all the beaches, the winner is beach Mace because it has a tiny island that you can swim too and we swam there on our last day. Very romantic!
Saint Tropez
I grabbed a Tarte Tropezienne on our way and sat on one of the benches in the old port enjoying the beautiful yachts. The dessert is available in all the restaurants (you must try it). It is one of the specialities of St. Tropez. I also highly recommend strolling around the old town, La Ponche. Every corner is beautiful and my favourite stop is ‘Plage de la Glaye‘. The view from this place is breathtaking. Also, do make sure to visit the square, Place de Lices to watch locals playing Petanque. It is also a nice place to chill and enjoy the sun. We made sure to visit Gendarmerie Nationale because we had watched the famous French movie of Louis de Funes, The Troops of St. Tropez during Spring. The city also has beautiful sandy beaches within short drive like less than 15 mins. Our favorite is the beach, Pampelone beach. Do check it out.
Hyeres
We visited Presqu’ile de Giens and this place reminded us of Key West, Miami because of the drive from the city, Hyeres to the island and also the vibe is a bit similar. We visited Key West in 2019 and loved the place and I am glad we found something similar in France. We selected this island during our trip because we were overwhelmed by visiting all the old towns and the cities in the South of France and wanted to experience something different.
Presqu’ile de Giens is a must-visit place in the French Riviera. It is a very famous busy place known for outdoor activities. If you are into hiking, kayaking and paddle-boarding, this is the place for you. Try to go early to find a parking spot and do carry water shoes and a snorkeling mask. Unfortunately, we forgot during our trip. They have beautiful sea wonders to explore and during the exploration, please follow the rules to protect yourself and the Marine Wildlife. We went swimming to an island, Ile de la Redonne for fun. It is not located far from the beach. If we can do it, you can do it. Also, do not miss the sunset. It has the best sunset view with boats, islands and red sky. You can check out my Instagram story to experience it. We grabbed a pizza and sat on top of the rocks to enjoy a romantic sunset dinner moment. Also, I highly recommend trying a restaurant, La Grotte in this island. They have good diverse healthy food with a great international vibe and again, it reminded us of Key West. We are definitely visiting this island again.
